iPad Pro Is the Leather Sleeve or Leather Smart Cover a better companion with Smart Keyboard?

Can't tell if the sleeve or smart cover is a better companion piece to the keyboard. I feel like I won't want to use the smart keyboard when I'm in consumption mode (watch movies and browse the web) so I want one or the other. But I feel like the sleeve is only practical for transporting the iPad from one place to another and not good for actual "using the iPad".
