The reason I ask is because I'm about to order 2 1GB RAM chips from 18004Memory (1 for my parents intel iMac and 1 for mine, this would bring both to 2GB) then I would like to take the 512K stock RAM chips out of both iMacs and put them in my sister-in-laws Macbook giving her 1GB instead of the stock 512K.

Will this work?

Thanks.

$85 per stick. I've ordered from 18004memory several times before and their memory has always worked great for me.

Ahh that's awesome! Yeah I just purchased two 1 GB sticks at Newegg for 80 bucks a stick. And it got to my house in only TWO days. Patriot RAM, and I'm very impressed. I'm happy that Apple actually went Intel, because now their computers won't be as picky about RAM! :D

Your sister will only have 768MB of RAM if you install the stick of 512. Apple stocks the macbook with only 2 sticks of 256.

She'll have two 512s - one from each iMac. ;)
