Last year I went from an iPhone SE 1st gen. to an iPhone 13 mini.

Ever since, I am disappointed over the main camera. The backlight photographs are terrible compared to before. (I don't care much about night mode and regular photos with the light direction are about the same.)

The 13 mini never uses HDR, or, at least, the photographs don't seem to, and there is no HDR stamp in Photos on my Mac as it used to be.

How is this possible? Can you do something about it?

Your 1st gen SE would save both an HDR and a regular version, the newer iPhones don't do this anymore, they use HDR as standard and because of this, you don't see the 'stamp' anymore. Basically, HDR is always on.

I see, thanks.

I’d be interested in seeing a comparison between your devices.
You're right, and I am wrong. The iPhone 13 mini is better. My mind tricked me, probably because I also had an Android, a modded version on Poco F1 with Gcam, for a while.

Sorry, y'all! 🙏🏻
