Is the MBA too thin for your lap?

I can see that the mba would be great for use on a desk or some other hard surface, but how good does it work on your lap? Is it too small and thin or is there no problem?

Too thin? If you are about being too thin, go get yourself a mbp.

It's only too think when they make the Macbook Imagination. That's the extra thin molecular-level Apple laptop. Only then would it be too dangerous for your lap. They'll have to reenforce the borders of the protection sleeves so that the Imagination doesn't tear through the material.

What does thickness and sitting on your lap have to do with each other anyway ? I can put a thin piece of paper on my lap with no problem. What problem is the OP forseeing here and asking about ?

I don't get the question.

Hello. I am an adult of average size. So, both 11" and 13" models are fine to use on the lap? They are not too light that you have to keep putting the hands on the palm rest area to keep them from falling? How about typing experience on the lap? I plan to use it on my lap mainly in the bus or train. Thanks.

Too thin? I think the question is more of how high/low the keyboard is. It should be fine for most people, but I do have a sense of what your saying ... "Will I feel cramped using the MBA on my lap?

It does tilt back a bit when your palms aren't pressing down, but I don't find it annoying at all. It's not precarious or in danger of slipping because of this.

The only problem I've run into is that some of the bus seats in front of me can be too close to have the 13' screen up at a decent angle. Some busses are fine though, and there are usually seats that don't have anything in front of them.

Definitely not too thin... I'd say it's more like a little angel just resting peacefully and perfectly. Jk ;) BUT, in all honesty it's awesome. The thickness doesn't mess with the "feel" of it in your lap at all.

certainly not too thin, but at this time of the year (-10 to -18 outside) the aluminium body can sometimes be a little too cold :)
