I am a student getting a 20" imac. My question is, should I spring for the more expensive iMac 20"? I am not worried about the extra hard-drive or speed. My main concern is the graphics card difference. How much better is the 2600 version?

Thanks

I don´t think so.

For 300$ you take a xbox360(wait for a new version with the heat problem exterminated) JUst for games and still with your imac20´!

That's a good point. Is it really worth the $300 for a better graphics card, a little more HD space, and .4GHz more of cpu speed?

In the end how much difference would this make to the average user? Probably nothing noticable.

Unlike the difference between the 2.2 and 2.4 ghz MacBook Pro (where the 2.2 is by FAR the better value), I'm not so sure this is the case for the iMac. This is not based on anything scientific, but I'm thinking that more vram might make Leopard run easier, in addition to the more taxing aspects of CS3. I would also think that it would make video work easier for the pro users.
