I just bought a 15''W Gimp laptop bag for my 15" MBP. http://www.crumpler.eu/?product=The_New_15''W_Gimp&page=details&product_line=600
Its made out of Neoprene, i'm wondering if this will actually insulate the MBP and therefor make it hotter??

My friend has the smaller version and he keeps his MacBook in without troubles but I've read the MBP runs hotter than the MacBook.

Opinions?

I bought a similar sleeve. I'm actually really worried about putting my MBP in it after I've used it for an extended period of time. I read a review where someone said their MB was black afterwards?? (yeah it was a white MB :p)

well i'm not worrying about it colouring (South African spelling!) my MacBook Pro as the inside is blue neoprene lining and so colour won't run off.

I'm concerned about the insulating properties of the neoprene! Will this make my MBP run hotter?

It would cool slower - possibly.

It wouldn't run hotter unless you ran it whilst it were inside the sleeve. This is not something I can see a way of doing.

I don't understand your post? While its unzipped, if the MBP is running will the neoprene underneath it make it hotter??

It probably will make it hotter because the heat won't be able to escape as well on the bottom of the MBP. I've noticed this a couple times when I've put my MBP on my couch, that the temperature is higher than say if it's on a table or desk with nothing underneath it. I don't see why you would run it while in the sleeve, though.

The neoprene case I got won't allow me to open it enough to use it while the sleeve is on. I don't have the case you are wondering about, but just relating my experience. I have set my MBP on top of the sleeve while running it, and it may have ran a bit hotter, but not more than a fee degrees at most.

Many thanks.

My Gimp bag has two diagonal elastic strips in the corners for you to secure the screen to the bag, i'm sure it is designed to be used while operating a MBP as it doesn't offer much in terms of protection whilst travelling! :)
