Vista 64bit is a headache for one reason nothing is 64bit so don't blame vista.
Well, I've been experiencing a hell of a lot of trouble installing the
64-bit drivers, as well as stability issues, on both Vista 64 and XP 64. Perhaps its just my machine, but even with the small amount of 64-bit software I do have, I have yet to have a good experience with any 64-bit MS operating system. Not to mention that the OS should at the very least be able to run 32-bit with little-to-no headache... (Like OS X, Linux, BSD, etc.) Currently, at least for me, it doesn't.
And back on subject:

To answer your question No its not 64bit because only the processor supports it and the motherboard doesn't.
That's not necessarily true. If apple is using the Napa64 chipset, then it could very well have full support. (however, the 3GB memory limit leads me to believe that it doesn't - or at least Napa64 has some other downsides)
And, finally, regardless of the chipset - it should still be able to run 64-bit applications, just like the Core 2 Duo iMacs, which is the main question of the thread, yeah?
