Is the Nvidia Quadro K5000 video card...

Hi. A while back you wonderful people helped me out on how to upgrade my CPU. I was looking at compatible mac video cards (must work with 10.8.3 and Win 8) and heard about the Nvidia Quadro K5000 card with native mac support. I just have the stock card in my mac pro and was wondering if you folks could weigh in on whether or not this is a good upgrade. Mostly it is so I can play some more complicated games (Bard's Tale IV / Elite Dangerous / Ys IV memories of Celceta and maybe Deus Ex Mankind Divided)

Also if it is a good card is it easy to install?

Quadro cards are not ideal for games.
They are optomised for pro apps.
Plus they are very overpriced.

If you where on Sierra or higher there are lot more options.

Okay. Thanks. The other card I looked into last night was the Apple Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video. Would this card be better for gaming, so long as I can use it in 10.8.3 and Windows 8?

I used to have this card, (the white Sahpire Mac Editon) but for gaming it is horrible. I would not recommend it.
The best gaming card is a Nvidia card. Back in the day, I did replace the white Sapphire ME with the EVGA 680 ME card. This was really better. However, the difference between the 680 ME and my current 980Ti is substantial.
If you are on a budget but you need boot screen, I would go for an EFI flashed Nvidia card. AMD is junk when it comes to games, believe me.

So far flashed GTX780Ti is the best option.
