I’m used to using the standard classic AirPods for hours on end everyday while I work but the standard classic AirPods have started causing ear sores on both sides of my ears on the inner part of the ear canal and I just can’t continue using them anymore. I just bought the newest 2nd Gen AirPods Pro and I’m using them for the first time today while I’m at work but the odd sensation I have is something I’m having a hard time at the moment and im not even using ANC, im using them in transparency mode as I want to make sure I hear my coworkers etc if they speak to me during the day while at work.

Do most AirPods Pro users just causally use the AirPods Pro’s on the way to work for an hour or less or do any of you use them throughout the day for hours on end? Does the sensation of pressure in the head go away?

I looked at the AirPods Pro, then ended up with the Bose Earbuds. A little bit bigger, but the sound quality and especially base, battery life and comfort is just out of this world. I wear them almost all day, even when at home if the wife doesn't want to watch or listen to what I am, or I don't want to hear what she is watching. We don't have traditional TV as we both have somewhat different tastes in viewing and usually just watch our own things on laptops.

I have to remind myself where the sound is coming from as I can barely feel them. You can pause, skip, adjust volume as well as ANC levels by just touch/caressing them in certain ways. I plan to try them while snowboarding this winter, but with ANC completely off. Even without a beenie, helmet and goggles they do not fall out, no matter how hard I shake my head.

But no matter what, I feel no pressure sensation.

What Bose model are you referring to? How can you not feel pressure though? Isn’t that what all these silicone tip buds do? (Pressurize the ear)

Specifically, these ones: https://www.bose.com/en_us/products...etcomfort-earbuds.html#v=qc_earbuds_soapstone (I got mine on Amazon in Europe)

But they have a newer model out now. As far as the pressure feeling goes, I think it comes down to your own ears. Some people are more susceptible to it than others. My wife complains about any kind of noise cancelling headphones, yet I don't experience any significant uncomfortable pressure. Very little, but nothing I can't deal with. The benefits of ANC in my case far outweigh the cons. I still have an old pair of wired over ear Quiet Comfort Bose, and yes, the pressure sensation is felt a little more with those, but they are old models, and even then it doesn't bother me, at all. I still use them for long haul in-flight entertainment as they have a 3.5mm jack. They even came with an airline adapter.

I think newer tech has greatly improved on things like the pressure feeling on headphones with ANC, especially the Bose, as like I say, you can adjust the level of ANC, so it is not either on or off. It even has auto adjust, in that if you walk past say a noisy construction site, they will automatically increase the level of ANC, then decrease as you walk away. This is also a question of safety. You kind of need to be aware of your surroundings in a lot of cases.

Any half decent retailer will have a return policy. So maybe try a few different brands/models and see what works for you.
