Hello, I am physically disabled and use my macbook on my floor. I have carpet. Ihave my macbook on a book and I felt the screen hinge (I think that is what its called) was hot. As well as the back of the lid. Should I get my Dad to make me some type of table where it is at angle (he is a craftsman)? I am worried that I am blocking the fans. I have the fan control software and uped the fan quite a bit and it is still getting hot.
Thanks.
Amy

Nope. its fine. The vents are all on the back so there is no need for ventilation under it. The MacBook is also designed to dissipate heat through the case so as not to have jet-like fans running all the time. So long as it dosent feel like it would burn you if you touch it, its running normally.

Bookshop!
there needs to be a small gap between the bottom of the computer and the surface its on. A big hardcover book would solve your problem :)

Yeah you should try keep a small gap between it and the surface, so a book would work fine cardboard anything like that.
