I've had my (cracked) iPhone less than 24 hours, and already I've had a weird SMS that's causing the SMS app to crash every time I try and use it. Is this issue something that only affects hacked iPhones, and if not, has it been fixed in one of the more recent updates (I'm still on 1.0.2)?

Can anyone point me in the direction of the easiest possible fix? I've found one here that looks reasonably quick and straightforward - all I have to do is FTP a file out of the phone, edit it, and FTP it back in again. Is that right?

try restoring it to factory then trying out the SMS app again. if that doesn't quite work call apple and have them work out the problem with the un-hacked phone.

Presumably doing a factory restore will re-lock it?

I can't call Apple BTW - it's an American iPhone that I'm using in a country that has no official iPhone service yet. It was given to me as a gift, pre-hacked.

I've done a bit more Googling and discovered that Apple's own advice for fixing the SMS crash problem is to do a restore
