Is the USB Superdrive compatible with an adapter?

Can anyone confirm that the Apple USB Superdrive does or does not work with a USB-C adapter.

I have an Intel MBP and the Superdrive works fine with a USB-C adaptor, so I would think it would work with your M1 Mac.

I don't have an Apple Superdrive, but I do have a laptop DVD-RW drive in a Buffalo external case. Plugging the box into my M1 MBA using an Apple USB A to C adapter and the drive seems to power up and work just fine.

I can also confirm that the Apple Superdrive works fine with an M1 MacBook Air.
