I have to ask because all the reviews complain about battery life, people complain about charging it multiple times per day. I take mine of the charger at 5am, come bedtime at 9pm or so it’s at least 50%. I get roughly 4-5 hrs screen time. I’m pleased with the phone. It lasts longer than a 7, 8 even my old 7 plus with 80% battery health. I don’t get all the hate.

No defective batteries in bulk that I am aware of. Just lots of people expecting iPad battery performance in a small iPhone battery. A lot of people are on their phone hours and hours and hours a day and they don’t want to take the time to charge. God forbid they miss the latest tweet or some other social media / game drivel.

Yes exactly this, many people love to binge on media consumption on their phablets which is their choice, but not exactly healthy for eyes, blue light etc. With the SE and smaller phones, you have to be a bit more realistic with expectations. It can last 2 days with light to moderate use, but using utube, instagram, tick tock etc for hours is gonna kill the 1800 mh battery quickly.

I am already at 99% battery health after a couple of months. It took about 8 months for my 11 Pro to drop to 98%. I don’t know if that is indicative of a particular issue for my SE battery.

But day to day battery life is more than adequate. I last charged my SE at 2:11 pm yesterday and it’s now 8:45 pm and I am at 16% with 4 hrs 2 m screen on time. That will get me through to bedtime if I exit out of the forum in a minute.

I don't let my batteries go into the red anymore. My XS Max is 7 months old and still at 100%, after 6 months on my 3rd 7 I was under 98 I believe. The SE has a tiny battery in it, not surprised it gets cycled much more quickly than bigger phones.

here are some ways to help battery life with iPhone SE1 tiny battery. Maybe these approaches will help yall with other Iphone models too. If you notice one way or the other, please do follow up with your observations and ideas. Thanks & TTFN ....

1 - Low Power mode. Gotta constantly put it back into low-power mode manually due to charging to 80 or 100%, but Just Do It.

2 - Turn off iPhone at night and extend iPhone battery life for 8 hours every day! (Leave ipad/mac turned on to get messages from Apple People. Android people can leave voice mail or green text message for morning when you turn on your iPhone.)

3 - Turn off vibration except when phone is on silent. Vibration is #1 power-sucking-alien.

4 - Turn off celullar radio or go airplane-mode if you are at edge of cell, like if you are constantly going in and out of tower range such as on a ski mountain. Also consider airplane-mode with wifi-on as a very cool power-saving method.

4 - Avoid heat while recharging. Recharge in coolest/nighttime/AC environment, not in summatime sunlight. (But not inside the fridge!). Phone charges more slowly from 80% to 100% to avoid heat buildup but still gets super-toasty.

Yeah I’ve probably let my 11 Pro go into the red only recently and that was due to getting the iPhone SE.

I’ve had a couple of days where the SE went into the red and once it shut off as I was using it.

A few tips there can certainly be useful in general, while some are basically along the lines of just not using the phone, which kind of defeats the purpose of having one -- depending on how some people use it that might be something that's somewhat more practical, but for many the inconvenience is less beneficial than some potential battery savings.

By the way, for LPM you can set up a shortcut/automation to have the phone use it on a more consistent basis.
