They both look exactly the same, my pantech element android tablet charges up faster than my mimi so I thought maybe I used the iphone charger by accident..

Is there a difference? both say 5v
 
as stated, same wires different voltage cubes, they both charge both devices but the ipad cube will charge the ipad quicker
Actually, iPods, iPads and iPhones all charge using the same voltage. What is different between the chargers is how many watts you can draw from it.

Also, the 12w iPad charger is not a cube. It looks rather different from the charger that comes with the iPhone and iPad mini.
