I've been mixing and matching theme elements for awhile now just by arranging them in Winterboard, but I've come to realize that I'd just rather learn how to create things myself so I can get the exact look I'm going for. I'm looking for a tutorial or something that lists things like what size icon files need to be, and how to replace current icons with these created ones. There's nothing more frustrating than finding an awesome icon set only to have certain apps keep their default icons. It sucks to have a bunch of cool transparent glass looking icons only to have a giant red Bank of America logo or Oakley Surf report logo disrupting that flow because the icon set doesn't have logos for them. I'd like to make icons to match the rest for apps that don't have them, plus also be able to make 100% custom icons eventually, once I have time to design them all and a direction I want to go with a theme

I'd also like to know how to extract an icon from a theme. There are a few themes in which I love the icons for certain apps and hate the ones for others, so I'd like to get all the ones I really like from different themes and use them all in one.

Plus I'd like to know how to customize the status bar and dock also. Like change what's on the status bar and change carrier logos and signal bars and such.

I've just recently started messing with SSH but I do have iPhoneBrowser to do all this via USB too. Just basically looking for one place to find info about what file sizes/extensions for different things (icons, carrier logos, signal bars, battery icons etc) have to be and a rundown of how to extract icons from themes and how to apply custom created things to a theme.

Since every theme is different, can have different components, I doubt you will find one tutorial which will even begin to cover anything but the very basics of theming.
