I have some H/K Soundsticks, and I just noticed a dead spider in the bottom of one of the satellite speakers. I'm not sure how or why it ended up in there, but it's kind of gross and I'd like to get it out. Is there a way to take apart the satellite speakers and put them back together again?

The satellite speakers are sealed and may be difficult to get apart. It makes me wonder how a spider could have gotten into the bottom. Check to see if there are any cracks or a small opening in the plastic.

I think it probably crawled in through the hole between the volume controls and up the pipe into the speaker body.

Yeah, I forgot about that. I still don't know how you're going to be able to get the critter out of there since that unit is fairly tightly sealed.

Update: I got it out! I found a thread on another website that said the glue would probably be old and brittle enough to pull the two halves apart, and they were right! They pulled right apart and went back together pretty well. It looks a lot nicer without a dead spider in it!

Congrats. I would not have thought of pulling the halves apart. Now all you have to do is make sure no other critters get inside of those satellites. LOL.

Great news! I will keep that in mind - have an old USB set purchased with a CUBE when OSX was released - they still sound great - did not know about the little tube / entry way

Yeah, they have to have SOME purpose, whatever it is. I didn't glue them back together, although it seems a little bit loose without glue so I might in the future.
