There are plenty of apps that show guitar chords, but is there an app that will 'listen' to the chord you're playing and identify it for you?

I've looked myself and found nothing. I don't know the market but I'd buy it as it helps me learn songs (listen to a song, try to mimic the sound).

'listening' to a chord and identifying it is not at all straightforward and there is barely any software on the most powerful computers that can do it. The only thing I know of is the latest version of Melodyne....and I don't think that version of the software has even been released yet after being shown last year.

Best way is to learn using your ears, and that's not meant as a snide comment at all.

Okay. Thanks.

I have been playing for 20+ years. I'm learning jazz and some voicings are way out there. I'll check out that comp. program though
