iPhone Is there a iPhone 5 jailbreak yet?

Not yet, there has been photos and video of it jailbroken and running Cydia but that is not ready for public use. Quick google search would have gave you the answer lol. Just saying 
I bet it will take some months.. the 4S took so long its crazy.
Maybe.. just maybe, but I think that the iP5 will go a little bit faster in that regard just cause its "iPhone 5" and not "iPhone 4S".
I dont know how to explain it better but thats just my thought.

The jailbreak devs are typically able to jailbreak the new iPhones shortly after they are released, but it still takes weeks to months to make the jailbreak stable and ready for public release. The 4S was jailbroken less than two weeks after it was released, yet it took 16 weeks before we saw a public 4S jailbreak. The iPhone 4 jailbreak only took 6 weeks. There is no ETA for the iPhone 5 jailbreak.
We sure could use a hardware exploit for the A5 and A6 chips. Wishful thinking I know. But that would be monumental for the hackers and jailbreak community as a whole. That would probably be the most impressive feat in iOS jailbreaking history lol.
Yes, but this early in the process there are no free ones. You will have to pay for them.

Too bad the mods haven't learned over the years to do something about threads like this, like delete them and give the people who start them a 3 day vacation.

nah the mods don't really care much about this section unless we mention pirating or name call. Pretty much anything else goes. I really wish one of the hacker regulars could be a mod for at least this section. dhlizard or Applejuiced, thelatinist and TriJetHero come to mind for me at least.
Or we could be really naughty and refer them to one of the scam sites where they pay $29.95 and get nothing for it !
Would we do that - probably not, but it is tempting for these ones who just refuse to read or Google before posting.

very funny, i can imagine the uproar from the newbs!
then will come the 100+ new threads going along the lines of:
'i just jailbroke my iPhone and got scammed thanks to macrumors"
and
'help my jailbreak won't work, i even paid for it!"

I'd be lying if I said I was never temped. Especially when they post a link to one asking if it's real or a scam.
While I'm flattered, I just don't have the time since my daughter was born. I've turned into quite the lurker. Alas, with another on the way I doubt that will change any time soon.
I would point out that I've had good luck with reporting threads. If you report one thread with links to the dozen others on the same topic and ask that they be combined, the mods are usually pretty good about it. Same goes for non-hacks stuff in the hacks section.
Hate to bump a thread about something that's not yet available but what is the latest and official news on the jailbreak? Its been done but still ironing out kinks for release?

We do not even know of an exploit yet, much less a working jailbreak. It could be months before an iPhone 5 jailbreak is available.
Here are some general resources for up-to-date information:
For official releases, read the Dev-Team's blog at http://blog.iphone-dev.org/. Even if they are not the first to release, they will usually have information there.
For information on new firmware, when it is safe to update, and information on software unlocks follow @MuscleNerd.
For info on progress, you can follow @chronicdevteam, @musclenerd, @pod2g, and occasionally @planetbeing.
