Is there a limit to the # of Macs I can connect to?

I have two Macbook Pros, a Macpro, an iMac at work, etc.
I plugged my 4S into my Macbook Pro for the first time last night and I received a message something about it was now connected to 4 of the 5 authorized Macs...it was the first time it was ever connected to a Mac (AFAIK)

1. I never connected it to a Mac before, why is it telling me this?
2. Is there a limit to how many Macs you can synch it with?
3. What if I want to stop using one Mac and start using another, how do I do this?

1) It all has to do with AppleID account authorizations through iTunes. I'll explain.

2) You can only have 5 authorized Macs that you use your AppleID with to authorize and play purchased content. When you hit the limit of 5, nothing happens really, but if you needed to use a 6th - as far as I know - one of the others needs to be deauthorized first. I can't say for sure if there is a way around the limit of 5. I've never looked, actually.

3) Deauthorization can all be done in your Account page in the iTunes Store. There is an option to deauthorize all Macs, so that you can start fresh. This option - again, last I knew - could only be used once in a year. The option is then unavailable to use until the next year.

If you have any authorized computers, whether they be Macs or PCs, it has to do with purchased and authorized iTunes content under your AppleID - not just because they're Macs. Hope this helps!
