In my previous old computer with Snow Leopard, I had tons of nice screen savers, and especially two nice versions of the Matrix rain. With the Terminal, I was able to set the Matrix rain as an animated desktop background, permanently. Now, with a new Mac Silicon, I'm unable to find some nice screen savers for Ventura (the ones that come with Ventura are all dull !). And all of my Snow Leopard screen savers are incompatible with Ventura! So is there a good looking Matrix rain app that could be used as a desktop background somewhere?

Of course, I searched the App Store, and found two untrusty versions that look horrible! No question I'll buy them!

So what's wrong with screen savers in Ventura?

Ooow ! I just noticed that the old GLMatrix.saver do works in Ventura!

After testing all of my ~ 30 old savers, only 6 are still playing nice:

- Falling Stuff.saver
- GLMatrix.saver
- Hypertorus.saver
- Marine Aquarium 3.saver
- PlasmaTunnel.saver
- Raindrops.saver

Hmmm, now, the Terminal command used in previous Mac OS to play the screen saver as a desktop wallpaper doesn't work anymore in Ventura:

/System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background

So is there a command to do the same in Ventura?

EDIT: Hmm, that command works but it activates the screen saver as a normal operation:

/System/Library/CoreServices/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background
