Try the paint function in ApplewWorks. It has been a long time since I used it, but I think it is similar to PaintBrush from the windows world.

Is PaintBrush just called Paint now, or am I talking about a completely different program?

Also look for Graphic Converter in your Applications folder.... thats a GREAT program but a bit odd if you try to go from Photoshop to it. Not bad, just a bit odd.

To answer your question, it's been "Microsoft Paint" for around ten years now, I think. PaintBrush. Wow, that brings back some memories.

If you find appleworks doesn't do all you want, Seashore is an open source image editor thats based on GIMP technology that I've recently found out about. It falls between Paint and Photoshop for functionality (can do more than Paint, but not as much as Photoshop). It is under development, but I've yet to have it crash on me (touch wood).

Making small images? Use Pixen...

If you make small images on a regular basis, especially if you're a game developer like me, you'll appreciate Pixen. It's a pixel-level image editor.

Talking of which, I see that there is a mac version of The GIMP available. Anyone have any experience with this.

More things to ask as I'm *very* tempted to get an iMac and make the switch from windows! ;)
