Is there a recommended picture file manager app available?

Looking to help someone clean up their file system.
Multiple iPhoto library files + lots of normal raw picture files.

I could use iPhoto and export to original format and then work the Finder to sort out duplicates and such...

Is there some app available to automate that more fully?
Point it to all the raw pictures and the iPhoto library files and click 'go'?

On import Photos/iPhoto should detect duplicates. Have you considered exporting all the libraries, create a new blank one and import everything into it? It’ll show duplicates and should let you pick a default action for all dupes (skip or import the dupe)

I have. That's pretty much the plan if a better option doesn't come along.
Export everything to original file format.
Identify and lose the first wave of duplicates with the Finder.
Cross fingers that iPhoto handles anything further on import without error.

I'm just asking in case there's some handy app that can read directly from iPhoto's database format and thus remove iPhoto and some Finder work from the equation.
