I have the 13” M1 mbp and would like to find a silicon case like I have on my iPhone 12. First silicon case, always had the leather, and this is so nice. Since the mbp had no thermal issues I’d like to try it. Any out there?

If you are looking for a soft & stretchy style case like you can get for phones you might be out of luck. I have occasionally looked to see if anyone makes this for laptops, as I think they might be nice in a school environment, but everything is a 'hard shell' case of one sort of another. Some do have soft silicone or rubber, but it's always around a rigid shell of some kind; at least as far as I've been able to discover. Might simply be that there is no valid way to make a stretchy/soft cover work at a laptop size - it seems like a pretty difficult thing to engineer.

If you do find something please stop back and post a link, I would be interest in this as well.

BTW, you might want to verify that the case you order is known to fit the very late Intel and M1 machines properly - some case manufacturers do not seem to have updated their designs properly when Apple moved away from their failed butterfly keyboard design and back to the scissor design. This made the machines just a tiny bit thicker. But we've ordered a lot of cases for use in education that claim they fit these newer machines and then they just don't; they were clearly designed for the older laptops with the butterfly keyboards because they very nearly fit but are just that tiny bit too shallow.

I've aways stuck with the rubberized hard plastic cases and they work well; just search by A2338 on Amazon. Some companies even print photos on the lid.

Yea I was just hoping to find something comparable to the hug and quality of the iphone silicone case. It's really won me over with my 12 mini.

That style case would never work because there is no space between the lid and body for a a silicon case to wrap around.
Right so instead of making the case out of hard plastic or leather I’d like one out of the silicon that’s durable.

It would still need to have a inflexible hard plastic frame with the small plastic tabs that grip the computer, covered by silicon. If the whole case were flexible silicon, it would keep coming loose.

Or could just be a properly cut silicone layer with an adhesive that lays perfectly in place like as brand. Or use the same build of the silicon iPhone case to wrap and grip the edges. None of it is impossible.

There isn't enough space between the lid and body for a flexible silicon case to securely grip the computer. An adhesive skin would work, but Im wondering how well a non-permenant adhesive would hold up to the weight of carrying it vertically in one hand. Ive seen leather adhesive skins, but not silicon yet. Just gotta keep searching I guess.
