Yahoo doesn't really update their sportacular pro app anymore, and most of the other apps are loaded with ads. I'm happy to pay money to remove ads. Anyone know a good option?

What about Yahoo! Sports? I think that's basically what they changed Sportacular into and although I'm not 100% positive, I don't think there are ads.

There are also some other ones like Sports Scores & Alerts, for example. Most have widgets too which makes it that much easier to follow scores.

They have two versions... the old sportacular "pro" version that doesn't have ads but it doesn't get updates, and it doesn't format to the new iPhone resolutions. "Yahoo! Sports" has ads on every page and also isn't formatted to the new iPhone resolutions.

Odd, I don't really recall ads in Yahoo! Sports, but I also primarily just use the widget for scores. Having looked through quite a few parts of the app just now I do see a few pages with a fairly non-intrusive ad that appears, but majority of the pages don't seem to have any ads as far as I can see. Wasn't quite sure about iPhone 6/6+ update (or lack of).

Which sports are you looking for? LiveScore is good for ice hockey, basketball and what I'd call football (what you'd call soccer if you're in the US), but doesn't (yet?) have baseball or American Football.

It's free and has one unobtrusive ad right at the bottom (it really is tiny on the 6+)

ESPN SportsCenter?

Nope. Neither 6+ optimized nor ad-free. I just opened it up on my phone and a full screen ad popped up.

I have been on the lookout for exactly what you have described, with the addition of the ability to favorite or star specific games that do not involve my favorite teams (most allow you to create a notification, I don't want to go that far, just want to see the score above other games along with my favorite team scores).

I want to pay for an ad-free sports app. Haven't found a reasonable app yet that allows that. There used to be, but they've gone ad-supported over the years.

Well that sucks. I actually don't go into the app that much because I use the widget. Good luck on your search.
