Hi! Good Evening!

I have a fully bumped up Mac mini M1 when apple made the Debut of its M1 chipsets. So i purchased the M1 since i had an iMac 21.3 inches from Late 2010. So yeah... i used it for basic stuff nothing too big. So i decided to buy this mac mini m1 for a long time and when i found out that M1 is super powerful compared to iMacs from 2019, i decided to purchase the one with more guts.

So i purchased it fully bumped up with ram, storage, and as well something about Gpu or unified memory. I really cant remember or something about some Cores. Anyways, i decided to purchase it so i did. Now i use it on everyday activity. I use it for Adobe CC, premiere pro, photoshop, etc. Also other apps that are powerful enough to render. Well, my question is, Is there a possibility to hook up an EXTERNAL eGPU to the Mac Mini M1 using an External THUNDERBOLT 4 CABLE?

Main reason is because i am using Aether Sx2 as a PS2 EMULATOR and running some games. Well, the emulation itself is flawless on METAL and on SOFTWARE Settings from the system itself. Well, i am trying my best to Stream it but when i start streaming my EMULATION FRAME RATE STARTS SKIPPING ABOUT 26% to 96% which when i use STREAMLABS i start to skip lots of times.

So my big research is that all the websites apply that supposedly you CANNOT hook up an external GPU to the MAC MINI M1 because it is not with INTEL CHIPSET. So, i made an investigation about 3 monitors and APPLE was stating that supposedly it only runs 2 MONITORS at the same time.

There are way arounds and other methods to apply external tools to your machine.

I really Do not know if this is possible.

All i want is my computer to be able to run the system smoothly without any trouble for skipping frames onto the stream.

So the system keeps telling me to Quit any programs that significantly use a vast amount of CPU & GPU.

So now i can't Stream since i get this issues.

What can i do? Is there another method to be able to fix this? is there a real resolution to this?

It will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

You cannot connect an eGPU to Apple Silicon Macs. There's no drivers for that.

I suppose if you want to stream, then you should use two computers: one for playing and one for streaming. Use an HDMI video capture device on the streaming computer.

i do have a macbook air m2 but i use it for doing other projects its more like for work. and my mac mini m1 is more like a personal computer. So you say to install it on the M2 in order to be able to play seamlessly on my macbook air m2?

Mmmm... i wonder how to stream it on the pc maybe just connecting it from the EL GATO HD60x to the macbook air m2?

Thanks! lol i will see if i can do it thank you! 😀
