I am talking about Apps that are no longer available or have been updated to be incompatible with earlier versions of OSX using as an example the current Vegas Bowling Lite 1.0.2 supposedly version 1.0 was developed for OSX 10.4 not OSX 10.9 or later.

Does anyone archive old versions of the Free Apps from the App Store that aren't supported or available anymore. I can't seem to find them anywhere on the Web accept that all the download links I found go to the App Store current version whether it exists or not anymore for OSX versions.

If you happen to have backups of your system that include said app, that's another way to do it.

Have you tried contacting the website of the developer or provider of the app you are interested in? If anyone would have previous versions, that is where I would expect to find them.
I haven't tried that yet but will consider it. Thanks

I have started to do that myself to a extent for Free Games from App Store that require OSX 10.6 or later "That is installing them and then storing them away for later use" "I don't use backups of my system", also I have another MacBook with 10.6.8 that can't connect to the App Store, but really I should be doing it for 10.11 Free Apps and Games as well because it is on its way out for awhile now too and many of the newer App Store Apps already don't even support it either they are all for 10.13 or later. I Probably should focus on downloading the good Free Apps too that are still for 10.6 or later as those won't last much longer if there are any left. I don't know if I really have enough space I only have like 130gb of Free Space although that is a lot for Mac Apps.

When I first got my MacBook 5,2 it was still supported by Apple but that has been awhile ago. I guess it's about time to get a MacBook Air with Catalina. Thanks

I did it I just bought a MacBook Air with Catalina and a 512gb SSD so I will have plenty of space soon.

Mobile Lite Kingston MLWG3ER - they’ve given up developing the app (purchased in 2019) for current iterations of OS. I’ve only ever used it as a power bank, but would be interested in attempting to restore it to its original data storage/transfer purposes. Are there any hobbyists working on this?

Actually, I have been collecting free Apps for quite awhile now but I recently came across the notification on certain apps obtained from Appstore reporting that you have to log in with the ID you purchased them with on that computer to run that particular App. I don't know if this Occurs when you first run the App after Downloading it from the Appstore or every time it runs so some Apps may not be transferable to Another Mac even if you transfer after having already downloaded them. Unless you enable family sharing on it or something..

I even have a few Apps in my collection that are not even available on the Appstore anymore but they still work. I don't know what to do with them though, I tried once to upload one on the Macintosh Repository but it wouldn't let me add it, might be cause it's not old enough to be considered abandon although it is an Abandon App cause even the developers Website isn't even there anymore. I checked everywhere on line couldn't find anyone to contact about it or nothing I barely found an old website that had listed the Requirements of the App.

The first time you run an AppStore app, it will check that you have purchased it. All behind the scenes if you are already logged in to the Apple ID which purchased the app. Otherwise ....

Keep your collection carefully. It is useful to you, and probably to others who have previously purchased the apps.

Thank you, That is good to know..

I have been keeping all my Purchased Apps, another thing I noticed is the AppStore Games that use Game Center you can either login to Game Center or just hit cancel "or press the escape key" and still play those games.
