Carrier Is there a way to get SMS messages to use Numbersync (AT&T) from a Mac?

Sending SMS (text messages) using SMS forwarding from my Mac works great, but if I turn off the phone text messages stop working from the Mac.

Calls on the other hand work great with the phone off.

Is there a way to get text messages to use Numbersync rather than forwarding through the phone? I'm on AT&T postpaid.

Is this still an issue? I am looking into Numbersync but the phone being off and the text messages not working sounds like a bug. I thought SMS would work.

Numbersync only mentions "Calls" but Wi-Fi Calling says it'll support text. I don't turn off my phone so have never noticed if it works from a Mac or not (and I'm not using AT&T anyway).
