My friend used to have a 2.0 iPhone, he updated to 2.1, and now it is stuck on the Slide for Emergency screen.
Is there any way to bypass this screen without restore? It says Invalid SIM card, but the phone remains unlocked (it says T-Mobile at the top with full signal bars, and full Wi-Fi on.)
We have stuff on the iPhone that we really need off, thats why we are looking for a way just to bypass this screen before we wipe the phone and redo our attempts at installing 2.1.
Most of the jailbreaking steps requires you to flash the phone of all of its contents, and then we would end up losing all of our stuff. My friend has stored Homework assignments on the notes app, important pictures on the camera, and important text messages.
We just need a simple way to just activate this iPhone, using a Mac, and Mac software. (No Windows please, as we do not have a copy of Windows on hand to bootcamp/parallels).
The backup file got deleted when we tried to follow the install using the iTunes 7.7 method.
