One super cool feature on the Samsung Internet Browser, was a release back in Springtime, that allowed the status bar to hidden. It looked so modern and nicer on new phones like a Galaxy S8 or V30, with minimal bezels etc...

But since then all the newer Samsung Interest .apks don't have that option anymore. I went back to that older .apk build, but it's a bit buggy in other areas, and the newest release is much smoother and overall better. But I miss that hide status bar option, don't understand why they got rid of that option ? It give you a little bit more space to view the web page at the top. And I also then have the Nav keys hidden while in the browser, so the browser takes up the entire screen, making the phone look very iPhone X'ish.

I run Nova launcher on my V30, and it has the option to hide status bar on the home screen, which I have set, but not while in an app itself, or in the browser. I wish there was a way to do that ? Any opinion ?

Just downloaded the .apk 6.2.01.12 and installed it. That option to hide status bar is not on that version.

Only one I saw it on was like a 5. something build, all newer versions do not have that option.

Yea, probably cause I'm using a Samsung phone. I could throw you the extracted .apk from my phone. But it might not work on the V30 or might not update. Let me know if you want to try it anyway.

You're probably right. With a Samsung phone/device they don't need to program in a way to exit "immersive mode" with the hidden status and navigation bars since Samsung has the permanent keys rather than on-screen keys. So, without a way out of immersive mode, it's easier to make that option not available than to add a way to exit that mode.

Of course, I could be entirely wrong and immersive mode is actually just an API in core Android so there's really nothing to adding that ability and Samsung is just being a bunch of jerks...

My screenshots are from the Note 8, so it's on screen keys.
