I just purchased an external mic to use with my 2nd Generation iPod Touch. Unfortunately, with the mic in, sound does not come out of the internal speaker. I guess the iPod thinks that there are headphones plugged in. Is there any way to play sound through the speaker with the mic plugged in?
Thanks.

I don't believe so, though perhaps with jailbreaking you can. What would you be trying to do with this?

I was trying with Ocarina, blowing into the mic, but then I can't hear it. In iTalk recorder, it's annoying to have to unplug the mic so that I can listen to what I just recorded. I don't want to jailbreak so I guess I'll have to learn to live with it.
