Often times when doing a Google search I’ll tap on a link and it launches the app vs the website. Is there a way to prevent the app from being launched besides deleting the app? I know you can long press on a link and then tap on the preview or open in new tab/window but you have to remember to do it and it’s kind of a pain. If I want to use an app I’ll launch the app. If I’m in Safari I want websites not apps. Is there a setting for this or is it the app developer that sets this behavior?

The YouTube links bother me the most. I want to watch the video in Safari so my adblocker stop the ads but if I forget to do the long press to be able to specify Safari then the YouTube app launches. However I believe, it seems this way to me at least, that once you select Safari in that manner once or twice it defaults to that with the next link you tap. The same default mechanism occurs if you wind up launching the app, it will launch again the next time.

I wonder if there could be an iOS setting to prevent this or if the apps themselves control that action?
