Recently I noticed Safari seems to default to showing closed captioning on my Mac, as well as iPad and iPhone. For example, the Apple "Celebrating Steve" video, whether loading on Safari for Mac, or Safari on iOS on my iPad, the video is closed captioned and I need to turn the captions off.
Similar if I go to YouTube and load a video - the "CC" box by default has a red underline, and I need to click off on it.
I've attempted to clear cookies, and Reset Safari on both my Mac and iPad. . .I checked System Preferences > Accessibility > Captions, and this option is not checked. To my knowledge, I have made no changes, but closed captioning seems to default on every YouTube or Apple video playing in Safari. I even created a new user account on my Mac, and the videos play with captions.
Wondering if there is anything else I can try, or if anybody has suggestions to offer. Thanks for your insight and help!
