I'm currently on iOS 6.1.1, but due to many crashes and volume issues I've decided to restore my iPhone 4S.

I'd like to upgrade to iOS 6.1.2 if possible without going to iOS 6.1.3, since that update patches the evasi0n jailbreak.

Is this possible? If not, I do have a 6.1.1 SHSH file saved from TinyUmbrella, is there a tutorial I could follow to restore right back to iOS 6.1.1 using that SHSH file?

Thank you!

The long answer is "no"

I thought so, it was worth the try though, is there a tutorial on how to restore back to iOS 6.1.1, since I'm already on iOS 6.1.1, and don't want to upgrade but still want to restore, I DO have the SHSH file saved from TinyUmbrella...

Thanks.

Even with SHSH saved, you cannot restore to unsigned iOS6 firmware with a 4S

Disappointing... Will there be a way in the future? Should I even save my SHSH blobs?

How soon do you think it will be before a jailbreak for 6.1.3 then? Since I'll have no choice but to upgrade now... :(

Thank you anyway.

Apple sucks. First time I have to restore my iPhone and lose JB, I'll head straight back to android.

This is not the first Jailbreak to be broken cause Apple doesnt sign older firmwares you should know the risk, there is no guarentee that the JB will be forever.

I doubt they will release a JB for 6.1.3
They only have a few exploits, 6.1.3 is only a very limited update. Not worth it to burn those exploits.

Yeah good point.

But for all those soon to invest/upgrade in a phone or ipad, its important to them to be able to jail-break if they so wish.

I get the feeling the Dev's are up for battling Apple so we'll see. :D

The few that buy a new device or have to restore just have to wait.

If it wasn't for the replacement exploit @pod2g found we wouldn't have evasi0n anyway. @planetbeing was pretty clear, they are not wasting exploit if they don't need to. The benefit of 6.1.3 is negligible.

I hold you to it!

Haha, well it's contingent on the HTC ONE being out and being as smooth as its hyped to be by the time I had an oopsy. Can't go back to normal iOS, just can't! Android has all the jailbreak tweaks as stock...Just done so poorly! If HTC one changed all that, that would be my second choice.

Look, this is an iOS forum.
Why continue your little threat/rant about returning to Android.
If you want to go back to that platform, that is your choice.
But this (4 posts by you now) does not belong here, is an attempt to hijack the thread and serves no purpose.

What the point of shsh then if you have a A5+ device?

Future downgrade possibility, on 5.x there was no downgrade for a while until the devs found a new way, a lot of people said the same thing than and didn't save them only to to come to the conclusion the missed out.

Chill out bro. I made one comment, no one needed to reply to it. You included.
