Texting is so overpriced and ridiculous. I'm thinking about going iphone from an unlimited android plan (no throttling, woo!) but the sheer cost of texting is really annoying me. I heard companies overprice texts around 3000%+. I send/receive around 750 texts a month. I don't need unlimited.

Is there a work around to this?
I know apps like TextNow provide free texting, but having two numbers is inconvenient for my friends.

iMessage.

Moving to a different country. I pay what's equivalent to roughly $20 and have unlimited text, talk and 20GB of data on my cellular plan. That's fairly average pricing in Denmark-

In the UK most plans now include unlimited texts by default, as they know not many people text any more.
