I really do not like the new Photos app at all. I wanted to know if there was an alternative to Photos, that will import my photos like Apple's Photos app does? Whether its free or I have to pay for is irrelevant. I have over 15,000 photos, and before Apple changed the photos app, it worked fine for me, but now, its a hot mess. I appreciate the help.

Just so you guys understand, what I mean is when I take the picture on my iphone/ipad, is there another photo app that will get it automatically, like Photos does?

I'm not entirely sure of an "automatic" upload feature that works, but I am very happy with Amazon Photo iOS app. You open the app and it uploads all photos and videos to their backup service. I just had to pay an annual fee (I think it is $60) to include the videos and unlimited, but photos alone are unlimited with Prime.

- Just looked and in theory it looks like it is supposed to automatically upload:

Tip: The Cloud Drive Photos app can also be configured to automatically save your Camera Roll to Cloud Drive. To manage this setting, tap Menu, then tap Settings, and open Auto-Save. You'll then see options to enable Auto-Save for photos, videos, or both and choose your preferred network settings for uploading. To protect your data plan, videos can only be uploaded from your device when you're connected to Wi-Fi.

Only iPhoto and Aperture as far as I am aware.

Since Aperture is not being updated anymore, should I still go that route? I can get my hands on a copy to try out, so maybe I will go that route. I really am not a fan of the new Photos app, so maybe this would be the better way to go.

I was also thinking about maybe going with Lightroom. I know they dont sync from ios devices, but I can use their cloud service to sync to my iMac from my ios devices, which is better than nothing. Thoughts? If you have any.

I use Aperture for the occasional Photostream update from my MBP, but I use Capture One for image processing and library management
