I've seen soooo many jailbroken iPhones that have these really neat themes. I chose not to break my iphone simply because.. i guess the idea makes me a little uneasy. So why can't we have an app created for themes? Or am I just missing it? did they already release one?

When a developer writes an application for the iPhone using the SDK, they are only allowed access to a limited area of the device's system (for security reasons). Writing an app that changed the theme of the phone's OS would never be possible, due to the fact that it would need to change core system files, and is potentially a huge security risk for users.

In other words, if you want custom icons/wallpaper on your iPhone, you're going to HAVE to jailbreak. Otherwise, it's either the iWay or the highway. ;)

I don't know about you, but I don't need Apple to force their idea of cool down my throat. Besides, what's with the stupid labels? Do I really need the word "Clock" displayed prominently beneath the Clock icon, which happens to be a big ... wait for it ... frakin' ... here it comes ... CLOCK??? Genius, I tell ya.
