Hello all...I'm wondering if there is an app that will allow a person to go directly to the bluetooth setting. Meaning, instead of hitting Settings>>General>>Bluetooth, a person could just tap the app icon and it would take them to the bluetooth page of settings. Or, better yet, it would flip bluetooth on (or off it was already on).

Likewise, i'd like to see this capability for Network>>Enable 3G, so that one could easily toggle 3G on or off just by clicking an icon on the homescreen once.

Thoughts and suggestions welcome....

This has been discussed dozens of times already. It is not possible with an official app, it violates the terms of the SDK. You can do this with a jailbroken phone however.

Jailbreak and download SBSettings. Then with one swipe on the status bar you can turn on and off any of those settings plus it lets you do more things that you normally can't do.

Thanks all...

I wasn't aware it had been discussed. And I'm certainly not a dev, but can appreciate the functionality that this type of app would provide. Not interested in jailbreaking the phone, so I'll wait and perhaps someday it will be officially SDK supported.

Thanks for the info.

Again, been discussed, but dang I'd like to have a Settings feature of some sort:

Come home, hit a Home screen Bookmark called Home, which turns off 3G, turns on WiFi, kicks the Ringer down a few notches, etc.

Just seems like Apple could do this sooo easily.

you'll be waiting a really loooooong time, i dont see apple giving developers access to any of their native functions ever. Your best hope is for apple to come up with a shortcut for these on the home screen and i dont see that happening either.

Even better, do it by location ;)

There's an application that lets you do stuff like that on Android called Locale. It's really quite cool, you can select all sorts of settings to change by location, time, or if someone calls or sends a text message. It's really quite cool. It and one other app are the only things I miss from my T-Mobile G1, but I'm still quite pleased with my decision to switch back to the iPhone.

http://www.androidlocale.com/

The other app was one where I could send my phone a text message like "location 1234", 1234 being a PIN that I setup within the application, and my phone will find its GPS location and respond with a text message that has a Google Maps link to my phone's location, so if someone were to steal my phone I'd just have to text message it to find it.
