I have searched and cannot find a way to check the baseband version on my iphone. I don't have installer so cannot install the App on installer? Is there an easier way to check for the current baseband?

I found this on another site:

1) Modem Firmware: 02.11.07 is V2.1
2) Modem Firmware: 02.28.00 is V2.2

Is this the baseband?

I still have 1.48.02, but I also have never updated the phone thru iTunes. I've Pwned it since 2.0.1

I've updated my 3g to 2.2 using a custom firmware and ratained the 2.1 baseband. I wanted to retain the baseband for known reasons.

Modem Firmware: 02.11.07 is V2.1

For lots of us it looks like its going to be the way to go for Custom Firmwares through our Mac friends.

Well it looks like modem firmware: 1.48.02 is from 3G 2.0.1 firmware version. Maybe since I never updated the baseband I don't get any of the jailbreak issues other uses get. I wonder if there's is any advantage to updating the modems firmware, though I am succesfully running 2.2 now...
