Is there an easy way to create patterns digitally?

Hey every one I just wanted to know is there a pattern creating software (or effect/ feature in illustrator or photoshop), by which I could enter a design/logo (or more than one) for example a letter “A” and it would create/generate a pattern. Kind of like the louis vuitton print but more varied/random.
