I have an upgraded 4,1 to 5,1 mac pro with a nvme drive I boot off of. I am currently running a patched version of Catalina. I am using clover or anything like that. I tried installing windows through bootcamp and no go. Always ran into an issue. Now I just want to get rid of OSX and run straight windows on it. Also I dont have a boot screen because of my gpu but could put the oem gpu back in. How do I go about installing windows? From my understanding the newer versions of windows require more space or something that the mac efi blocks ?

Thanks

I am not sure about installing Win by itself without macOS. If you want to still try having both macOS and Win in you cMP, this method via OpenCore is a very reliable option to run both OS, I would not call it easy but neither difficult. Within the guide in post #1, there is a section for Win. Please note you would need to do a clean macOS install to remove the patched Catalina, it is not recommended to mix the patched Catalina you are currently running with OpenCore methods.

If you still have your patched installation of MacOS working, then you can follow this process:

No need to bring OpenCore into the picture for what you said you want of ultimately ditching MacOS.

Your mention of Clover is worrying though, as it is a very bad idea to use Clover on a Mac Pro. Well, it used to be a very bad idea a year or so ago ... not sure if this has changed in the interim.
