Is there an easy way to play wmv files in Mountain Lion (without converting)?

I'm new to the world of Mac. I have a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and was hoping for an easy way to play wmv video files on my mac without first needing to convert them to a compatible format.

I have a TON of wmv video files on an external hard drive. Too many to make sense converting all of them. I'd like to just be able to open them directly and play them on my Mac. Right now, I need to play these videos on my Mac running Windows 7 via Parallels.

Is there an easy way to play these files in Mountain Lion?

VLC Player or Movist can play them. QT Player with Flip4Mac can play them too.

VLC is the best media player solution imo. I use it on everything.
