I was looking around to try and find out more info about where the intel chip sets are going and a good set of descriptions about the current state of the technology used for the MacBook & MacBook Pro?

Try any PC related tech site for that information.

This doesn't hold water anymore. Theoretically, MacRumors would be discussing the same things related to Intel chips since Apple now uses them as well.

If you search MacRumors, you might be surprised at how much discussion there is about about what you are looking for.

while i appreciate the effort, I do not agree that there is a lot of good, easily navigable information on MR. It almost invariable turns into total speculation. I am looking for something that details the info really well.

Yeah, the fact that MacRumors is only available for PPC really annoys me! I'm tired of using Rosetta, arn, you hear me?! Port your ****! ;)
Yes, this is a joke regarding the ambiguous wording of the thread's title. Now get back to your regularly scheduled stuff.

I don't mean to sound like a smart-alec, but the site is MacRumors, that is its purpose.

There are many, many sites dealing with PC hardware, arstechnica.com, tomshardware.co.uk and anandtech.com being some of my favourites.

It's just too bad that all Mac sites are rumor sites, it seems to be a given.

Actually if Arn is reading this, is there any chance you can get rid of those ads for Macstore.ie. All it does is send people onto apple.com and get money from ads and click throughs. Nothing else.

Anandtech is an amazing site. I have asked questions on there and received responses in a matter of minutes. I go there for all my pc related questions. (The people aren't quite as friendly as macrumors though ;) )

Basically he is asking "Where can I find free Apple tipz plz?"

There is no such thing, Macrumors is as close as you can get. By definition rumors are all speculations.

no no iW00t that's not what I was trying to say buddy. I Don't mind the speculation; actually, I think it was a poor choice of words looking back on it. What I meant was that it seems to inevitably turn into a race to the bottom of why one of our posters is right and the other is wrong. let me rephrase the question: I am perhaps looking for two sites or one that effectively does both 1) a site that is informative and grounded in actually confirmed information such as what exactly does core mean, what does the C2d do differently than the CD, what are the confirmed next stages beyond the C2d, etc.; and, 2) a websites that similarly address these issues, but are wrapped in more speculation and don't have to be as "documented" such as what aspects of santa rosa will apple use, etc.

Maybe that is better or more clear for what I was interested in, I hope, but if not let me know and I will do my best to further winnow it down.

edit: oh and this is not about PC at all, I am purely interested in the implications for Apple. If someone finds a really great thread on here, something I have looked pretty hard for myself, that plays into what I set out above, then by all means send it my way. Thanks again.
