I have 3 adults living in one house, one is the owner of all of the smart devices and is the primary home. Adult 2 and 3 both have Apple TVs and HomePods set for stereo speakers. Is there a way to set up the devices so they are separate (I don’t want to be logged into adult 3’s Apple TV and adult 2 doesn’t want adult 3 on their tv) but still allow full home control?

I currently have each adult have their own home and everyone is setup as a user. i Can tell adult 3’s Apple TV to turn the kitchen lights on and it works even though the lights are on my home, however i cant get cameras to share. Saying “show me the front door camera” on adult 2’s tv results in nothing, they don’t get doorbell notifications on their tv or HomePods and I can’t share the camera with their home as you can only link the device to one home at a time.

Don’t create 3 homes on the same network. It’s nothing but a mess. Stuff will get confused and devices will not work. Either your all in one home or you aren’t.

I’d like to consolidate but don’t you have to be logged into the same account for the HomePods and Apple TV to work as a stereo pair? all three of us don’t want to be logged into each others Apple tv’s. Adult 2 doesn’t want to have adult 3 open the photos app and have access to the photos on the tv in adult 3’s room.

it would be great if adult 2 can be logged into adult 2’s apple Account but be a part of adult 1’s home and have access to their HomeKit devices, while not having to log into adult 1’s Apple account and see their data.

One person has to be head of the family and then everyone else gets invited in. Basically one person has to set up all devices in the home as their own. Then everyone else gets invited it. Your roommates don’t want to do that so there’s no solution for you. ’s system isn’t not designed for roommates. It’s designed around families. There isn’t a solution for your situation. I wish there was. It would’ve been so much easier when setting things up in my own home. Luckily for me I only had to set up her tv to not use one screen and I don’t allow that tv to download apps whenever I buy new ones. I put all apps she won’t be using in a folder. But all devices are set up as mine and I give access to her.
