I just bought macbook air m1 2020, and want to upgrade the os to sonoma.

Is there any bugs, perfomance issue, or any disadvantage?

Better stay in bigsur or update it to sonoma?

I'm typing on an M1 Air running Sonoma. Sonoma has been out since last year, it's been overall stable and little to no issues. I recommend upgrading to Sonoma as Big Sur is unsupported and no longer gets security updates.

The only rare case to not upgrade is when you use old legacy programs or have plugins for music production programs that may not play nice with Sonoma. Otherwise, do the upgrade.

Bugs always exist, no matter how much time Apple spend to fix them.
What matters is if there are any bugs affecting you more than others.
I’d say there’s no bugs affecting Me, but that’s about it. You need to use the machine to figure it out.
