Well, maybe a dumb question from my kid, but I don't have the right explanation. I know 3G has shorter battery life, but how about 16GB 3G vs. 64GB 3G?

Haven't heard or read of any difference anywhere, and would be quite surprised if I did.

3G USAGE shortens battery life, not the mere presence of 3G. If you turn "Cellular Data" off you should not see any difference in battery life.
