I am guessing the answer is probably no but, I wanted to ask just the same. I really like Forklift and also use QSpace Pro to easily move and do file and folder maintenance. Is there any apps like that available for the iPad as to pane views and speed? I looked briefly but, I didn't see anything.

Haven't seen anything like that for the iPad. I use FileBrowser Pro, it supports multiple tabs -

FileBrowser Pro together with Apple’s Short Cuts and a-Shell Mini will bring you quite close in functionality. Obviously you can’t do anything which by design or mandate is not possible on iPadOS, but you will get pretty close: background copies, renaming, fast info on the accessible parts of the storage, fast and reliable access to most storage solutions, running shell scripts via Short Cuts in a-Shell to e.g. convert audio or video using ffmpeg, etc..
