Without opting for iCloud Music Library?

One of the things I like about Qobuz is the ability to view a list of "Favorite" albums. There doesn't appear to be a way to do this in Apple Music other than to merge your library with the cloud and then you can add Apple Music albums to your library or playlists.

I really don't want to do that because I have over 500 GB of lossless music, much of it classical, and much of it not in the Apple Music catalog. It seems like trying to "merge" all that would be a disaster.

Is there something else I can do? If not, would you advise that I attempt to merge my library? Will it risk messing up the system I have?

If you're using the Mac application Music, you can select "Albums" from the sidebar. Then, if you hover over the album, you will see "...". If you click that, there is a menu. If you don't use "love" and "dislike" for individual songs, you could click that you "love" the album. If you use love/dislike for individual songs, then you don't want to do that. Instead, you can give it a particular Star rating. For example, make that album "5 stars". If you do that for multiple albums, you can then make a Smart Playlist that only has songs that are "Loved" or "5 stars". Sort the playlist by album or by artist. Then, in the sidebar on the Smart Playlist, right click it and then select "Copy to Play Order". This is just one kind of scenario you could get to work.

Thanks. I have "loved" a few songs, but I was mainly using it as a way to keep track of a small number of songs recommended by friends. I didn't use it on my large classical collection. I'll see what I can do.
