Is there any way to control my iPod from my iTunes on Mac?

I tend to be working on my Macbook while the iPod remains connected to speakers far off. Is there any way I could change music right from iTunes?

Basically - I'm looking for an app/service/hack that functions in the opposite way of the Remote.

Read the OP's post. They have an iPod, not iPhone or iPad, which is what that app is for. Also, the iPod is "far off", which means bluetooth would not work, which is what that app requires. Not to mention the negative reviews:

Really nice app, works in no time.

Not connecting... - I was excited when I saw this app but that left after several attmepts to get it to connect.
