This is a feature i thought copy and paste would fix. I can't tell you how many times i have had a friend call and ask me to text message them someone else's phone number. Currently, and in the past I have always had to stop what I was doing, go into contacts, physically write down the number with pen and paper, then open messages app, and type in the number to send to my lazy friend.

Is there any way in 3.0 to take a number from contacts and paste it into MMS??
phone numbers in the contacts app are not a "copy friendly" field.

This is really only an issue with trying to share a contact with someone who does not have an iphone 3.0, as i like the "share contact" button down at the bottom, but it only opens an email. :(

Try copying the number from the edit contact screen instead.
A couple of extra steps but it works for me.

I tried doing that before i posted and i could not get it to work.

BUT!! my problem was i was not hitting the little arrow to the right. IT FREAKING WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!. This is without a doubt worth the two extra taps.

THANK YOU had i not read your post and given it a second try I would still be pulling over in my truck and hunting for pens.

I owe you a beer!
