I wanted to give an old iPhone to my Nan but she found it too complicated and could even pick up the phone without doing something wrong. I had to keep going over because we couldn't hear her, but she could hear us... No idea what setting she chose but I had to keep factory resetting it. On top of that everything was too small for her to see, even on the largest setting.......

Does iPhone have some hidden UI for seniors or children that makes it as simple as an old phone? Right now I have her on a 3310 and she is happy with that, but 2G signal is so bad I really want her on a more modern phone.

Thanks.

Perhaps she needs more of a pure phone instead of any smart phone? Maybe just a phone for phone calls and nothing else. Big number buttons, minimal to no screen. Flip phones is still a thing, dirt cheap and work fine. Not everyone needs a smart phone. I don't even have one myself.

You could probably sell your old iPhone for something and then use a fraction of what you get to buy a brand new phone of that type. Just one of MANY examples. Another. Another. Another. Another. See various options from Consumer Cellular, Jitterbug and similar too.
